Once again I just proved that the Air Force was right (is that an oxymoron?) not making me a clerk. My semi-fast dyslexic typing fingers just demonstrated their talent in my earlier post.

I was at Nha Trang from July to October 1969 before spending the rest of the tour at Phu Cat as an aircraft avionics (radio) repairman.

Sure wish this guestbook had a spell checker and "go-back" correction function.

If for no other reason then the opportunity to connect with the memories of that Great Southeast Asian Vacation Tour and Expo, Travel and Study experience. Keep this site up running.

    Thanks.

I was at Nha Trang from July to October 1966 as a aircraft avionics (radio) repairman. Spent a lot of time out on the flight line in 119s, 130s, 47s, A1s and the helios. Then sent to Phu Cat for the rest of the tour.

It was at Great Exotic Southeast Asian Vacation Tour and Expo.

Assigned as the OIC, EOD Team from Oct 68 to Oct 69. Didn't know about this group. My memoir, entitled Just Call Me Moose!, includes the highlights of living at Nha Trang during my tour. See www.gondolapress.com. Would like to attend the reunion but may have a schedule problem. Looks like a great time.

I was in the Instrument shop at Nha Trang from Oct 68 to March 69, then went to Pleiku for rest of tour. Came back to Nha Trang to process out and last night I think it was the building by theater was hit with a rocket. I remember a Wayne Compton who also was in Instrument Shop.

14SPS in Nha Trang between 1966 and 67. I was visiting him this past weekend and told him about this site. He apparently was the NCOIC during that time, or something. He told me to let anyone "who cared" know that he was still around.

Was with the 8th PSYOP Btn March '69 to March '70. We were over in the "pie slice" area Camp McDermott. A buddy and I bought an 18 foot sail boat from some French guys. We kept it at a bar on the beach (Wa Trang?), just north of the AFB runway. We had many adventures sailing out to the islands. We sold it to some SF guys when we left. I'd love to know what happened to it. White fiberglass hull...blue plywood deck...bamboo mast with a canvas sail.

Assigned to the ALCE Comm Center, Nha Trang (29150) Oct 69-70. I can't remember the Comm Sq #; can someone tell me? Went TDA to Phu Bai for 3 months. Can't remeber that unit either (lost all copies of orders). Buds were SSgt George Broomall, A1C Charles P Murphy and SSgt Ryan; all came over on the same Flying Tiger. TSgt B Davis was our personnel king. If any of you thugs are out there, give me hollar....
